Linkly EFTPOS Pairing Guide
Connect your EFTPOS terminal to Avermind Hub so card payments go straight to the terminal — no typing the amount twice.
1. What you need
- An integrated EFTPOS terminal with Linkly Cloud. Ask your bank or payment provider (for example CommBank, Westpac, ANZ, NAB, Live Payments or Till) for an integrated terminal with Linkly Cloud for your merchant number. Already have a terminal? Ask them whether it's enabled for Linkly Cloud.
- Your Linkly Cloud username and password. Linkly emails these to the email address on your merchant application. Each terminal has its own username and password. Can't find them, or need a reset? Contact Linkly support.
- Avermind Hub installed on your tablet and signed in to your location.
- An internet connection for both the terminal and the tablet.
2. Get a pair code on the terminal
Open the Linkly / POS pairing menu on your terminal and generate a pair code. Where the menu is depends on the terminal model — your payment provider's terminal guide shows the steps.
The pair code is only valid for a few minutes, so have Hub open and ready before you generate it.
3. Pair the terminal in Hub
- In Avermind Hub, go to Settings › Terminals and tap Pair terminal.
- Enter a name for the terminal (for example “Front counter”).
- Enter your Linkly Cloud username and password.
- Enter the pair code shown on the terminal.
- Under Card receipts print on, choose:
- Terminal (recommended) — the terminal prints the card receipts on its own paper.
- Hub printer — for terminals without a printer: card receipts print on your Hub receipt printer.
- Tap Pair. The terminal now appears under Payment terminals.
Your password is only used to pair and is never stored. The username is kept so re-pairing later is quicker.
4. Which tablet uses which terminal
With one terminal at your location, every Hub tablet uses it automatically. With several terminals, choose on each tablet which one it uses, in Settings › Terminals.
Several tablets can share one terminal. It takes one payment at a time — a second tablet sees “Terminal busy” until the first payment is finished.
5. Taking a payment
- Open the order and tap Charge, then Card. The amount is sent to the terminal — the customer taps or inserts their card.
- Splitting a bill: change the card amount, or take part in cash and the rest on card. The order is paid once the parts cover the total.
- Refunds: open the paid order and tap Refund — back to the card on the terminal, or in cash.
- If Hub closes or the tablet loses power during a payment, Hub picks the payment up again when it restarts and prints the result.
6. Troubleshooting
- “Needs pairing again”: your Linkly password changed, or a new pair code was generated on the terminal. Tap Re-pair on the terminal in Settings › Terminals and enter a fresh pair code (steps 2 and 3).
- Pairing failed: check the username and password, and generate a new pair code — it may have expired.
- No Linkly username and password, or they don't work: contact Linkly support to find or reset them. Never received any? Ask your bank or payment provider to request a Linkly Cloud account for your merchant number.
- Pairing another system disconnects Hub. A terminal stays connected to the system it was paired with last.
- “Terminal busy”: another tablet is taking a payment on the same terminal. Wait until it's finished.
- “Not sent to the terminal” or no response: check the internet connection of both the terminal and the tablet, and restart the terminal if needed. Cash and card payments on another EFTPOS machine still work in the meantime.
